The Pet-Friendly Audit
There's a difference between being pet-friendly on paper and being pet-friendly in practice.
Guests notice, and so do their reviews. I help hotels and hospitality brands find that gap and close it, using the same standard I hold my own product to.
Why Choose Tails & Tones to Elevate Your Pet Experience?
My approach comes from a Master of Arts in Sustainable Design, where my thesis looked closely at the pet industry through a systems thinking lens: how one decision, a bowl, a policy, a welcome kit, ripples out into guest experience, staff workload, and brand perception all at once. I'm not here to hand you a checklist and walk away. I'm here to understand what's already working, build on it, and map out both the quick wins and the longer-term strategy.

Piper has special needs that make it hard to know what 'dog-friendly' actually means before we arrive somewhere. We've fallen into that trap more times than I can count: stuck in an outdoor area with no shade or air conditioning, or a dog who was never so much as offered a bowl of water. That's the exact gap this audit exists to close.

Before building my first product, I interviewed more than 100 dog parents, including Greg Hoffman, Nike's former CMO, to understand what dog owners actually need, not what a brand assumes they need.
Why Now?
Recent hospitality industry research found that 58% of travellers plan to bring their pet along on trips, many of whom said they'd rather travel with their dog than with a friend. For most of these guests, that dog isn't an accessory, it's family. The properties that treat it that way are turning it into a genuine point of difference. The ones that don't are quietly losing repeat bookings to the ones that do.
Who This is For?
-
Hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments that already welcome pets and want to prove it
-
Hospitality groups repositioning a property as pet-friendly
-
Venues that want to get ahead of guest feedback about how pets and their owners are treated
-
Brands considering a genuine amenity partnership (bowls, bedding, welcome kits) who want the strategy in place first
